Warning - Kayaking can be hazardous.

Warning - Kayaking can be an enjoyable pastime, however it does carry with it inherent risks. Professional
instruction, wearing immersion protection clothing and PFD, and practice in self and assisted rescues will help
to minimize the risk however it cannot be eliminated. By using a Friday Harbor paddle, the user acknowledges
said risk and releases Friday Harbor Paddles, and its agents, from any and all liability.
Always carry a spare paddle.

Seal - 5 full length horizontal laminations
To determine the appropriate length, stand with your feet flat on the floor and reach high
over your head.  Then measure from the floor to  the first knuckle of your middle finger.
That should give you the length.
If you expect to do a lot of rolling, then chose a slightly shorter length.  If you are using
a wide kayak, or one with a high deck, then chose a slightly longer paddle.  If you need
help, email me
here.
The Seal paddle is made with 5 horizontal laminations running almost the full length of the
paddle. Then two more laminations are added in the loom area. The multiple layers involve
more sawing and epoxy work, but I believe it provides the best combination of lightness, and
strength in a cedar Greenland paddle. To me, no other kayak paddle material compares with
the lightness, flexibility, and performance of an all cedar Greenland paddle.
